ENERGY SAVING GLASS LTD (ESG) is a glass processing company located in Kingswinford, England. It was founded by Ken Walker in 1997. He took the opportunity to start his own company after having many years of experience in the glass industry. Today, ESG is a smooth business, operating in a 30.000 square foot factory, producing high-quality IGU. Energy-saving glass has grown year by year and is now supplied to residential and commercial sectors, as well as new construction and local authority (government) departments. IGU production is the company's core business, mainly managed by Forel Machinery, a long-term partner of ESG.
We talked with ESG Director Alex Walker about their business, goals and the development of the UK market.

How would you rate the UK market today? Is it growth, stability or decline? What is the next trend in the glass industry? How did the last year of the Covid pandemic affect your activities?
“At the moment we find that the market is in a very healthy state. The demand for IGU in the UK is higher than the demand being manufactured, and I don’t think this will change in the rest of 2021. The only problem that hinders us is the shortage of glass in the UK, so we can only Produce the number of IGUs that we have enough glass in stock. We found that all the departments that need IGU are very busy. During the first national lockdown, when we were forced to stop production for several weeks, the Covid pandemic only affected us. Except. Besides, it’s busier than ever: I believe that people are investing in their own homes. Since they cannot spend the money they would normally spend, they have more money to invest in due to government restrictions. New windows, doors, etc."
